Cursed Sword of Killing

History:

53577: Ted's character discovered the sword and was cursed when he wielded it in combat against an Insane Red Dragon.

53605: Ephemerous memorised Remove Curse and managed to cast the spell on Ted's Character before he could resist. The curse is removed and they are trying to decide what to do with the sword. No other party members have been cursed.

Location Discovered:

This item was discovered during game (53577) by Ted's character. During the battle with an Insane Red Dragon he was freed from his chains and went to look for his equiptment and weapons. There were several crates that had been unloaded from a boat that most likely containted his equiptment. He discovered the sword in one of that boxes and out of desperation he used it in combat.

If identified the sword identifies as a cursed sword of (-1 att/dam) with a contingency. The contingency is not identified since it requires a specific set of conditions to work. Whenever this weapon is used in combat the wielder is so afraid of damaging the weapon that he does not put the full force of his attack into each swing. Inspite of his reluctnce to damage such a fine weapon he or she can't seem to concentrate without it in his or her hand at all times. If the cursed owner uses any other weapon of any kind for any task they suffer a (-5 att/dam). They also are unable to fully concentrate on what they are doing since they are wanting to wield the cursed sword. All skill and ability checks that require focus, concentration, or any mental component at also at a (-5).

Due to the unnatureal attraction to the sword the cursed person will never leave it lying around unattended. The cursed will also never give the sword away or sell it. This cursed attraction grants the cursed a (+5) bonus to resist any attempt to separate them from the weapon. This incluldes the use of a Remove Curse Spell. If someone tries to cast Remove Curse on either the weapon or the cursed the cursed will resist the spell and gain the (+5) bonus to his or her resist check.

Owner:

Ted's character was the first to use the sword in combat without testing it or identifying it. He was cursed with the full effect of the weapon. He has been cured of the curse and has not wielded the weapon since he was freed. He is still carrying the sword but is not compelled to wield it and as long as it is only handled as a non-weapon the curse will not activate again.
